Artisan’s Asylum Workshop: Bedlam Express

Bedlam Express – built at Artisan’s Asylum (Somerville, MA) under direction of PSR Chief Engineer Jeff Del Papa. Raced June 6, 2015. (Because of their insurance, AA workshops are limited to adults.)

Conceptual Phase

“The Asylum has as a primary mission, getting tools into peoples’ hands.  From that, and with a nod to another atypical racing event that used to happen in Somerville, (drag racing belt sanders), I am planning a scale model of a modified class racing sander.  The scale will be 1 foot to the inch.  The prototype is a 60’s era ‘locomotive’ style”
